Da das ja derzeit groß in Mode ist habe ich mal 3 platten als raidz1 zusammengeknotet und mein FreeBSD 9-stable auf einem ZFS installiert. Ich habe soweit nichts zu meckern mit der Performance oder so, aber dieses Gerassel im 5 Sekundenabstand geht mir auf den Senkel...
Kann man den ARC etwas bremsen?

Steckt da einer in der Materie? Olli?

Ich habe da noch überhaupt nix dran gedreht, das ist der Standard nach der Installation.

ZFS geht prima.
Ich habe extra vorher einen Wurscht-Käse-Test gemacht.

Hab aber nie was rasseln gehört.

(Ich kenne mich damit aber nicht wirklich aus)

ich hab auch standard ZFS - aber als mirror
Und swap als gmirror.
Läuft problemlos seit > 1 Jahr.

Ich habe auf meinem NAS (HP Microserver N40L) auch ZFS (via Nas4Free), stecke aber in Sachen ZFS noch in den Kinderschuhen
